goodbye my friend
the first car i got in high school was an aircooled '82 vanagon. i took that car all over. snowboarding in the mountains to dead shows in california. it started my love affair with VWs but most of all with the transporter style bus's. i didnt drive for a few years because i lived downtown and worked downtown, so i didnt need a car, but i then had a '90 carat vanagon that made a couple bishop trips and many trips to squamish. i got rid of that cuz i bought my beloved jetta and that was that. then in 2005 a friend told me of their friend who was getting their bus towed to the crusher. it didnt run and they were over it. well i went and got it and spent the money to put it back on the road. new motor, wiring brakes and bunch of other things. i drove it quite a bit over the years but other than taking it to a few VW shows i never really used it for what it was meant to be used for. this last week a young couple came to take a look at it. they were the exactly the people i built this bus for. they want to spend some time with it replacing all the little things to make take it back to its road trip glory. they are planning on taking an endless road trip in march and this bus is what they want to do it in. i am so very happy for them and so very happy that this old girl was saved from the crusher and put back on the road for many years and many more miles. thanks tyler, you and your lady will be having a great time.
ive owned many VWs but i always get a little weepy when i get rid of the buses. they have a special place in my heart and will always have a place in my driveway.
gingers pet rescue
our little familly has never been happier. Linus has become a wonderful part of our day to day activities. he loves to wrestly with enzo and run with dino. he loves to chew on our fingers and sit on my chest to wake me up so he can go run in the yard and chase squirrels.
Ginger is continuing to need donations and fosters and forevers.

bozeman vintage shopping
you can find some really spectacular old stuff here in bozeman. things people here really dont fancy the way us city folk do. i seriously could outfit my entire house with new furniture including couches, dressers, old armoires, etc, anything you want. all for what one nice piece would be back in seattle. here are a couple shots of some cool things i saw. especially this 1950 montana state letterman coat that fit me like a glove. but for $100, i wasnt going to do it.

The special one
Jose Mourinho pretty much defines elegance in coaching. there is not much he does wrong. every team he coaches ends up on top. he says it is about putting talent in with the right talent and allowing them to be themselves. he is truly inspiring.
here is an interview with him while him and REAL Madrid were on tour in LA.

O-town and Teo-town at index
one thing that we have always done here on climbing team is given nicknames to some of the climbers. there is no process or theory behind it, it usually just comes to my mind and then they are stuck with it. well O town was named this way because of the awesome boy band from early 2000's. and Teo-town, well, you can see the resemblence.
