ive been watching tevez since he moved to west ham a few years ago. he no only was the driving force to keep them up from relegation that year but then brought a much needed midfield force to Man United the following year.
now at Man City, he is on total fire. he is killing people left and right and he is the definition of a class act. he never dives, always hussles, and demands respect wherever he goes with his play on the field. carlos, killing it.

tomorrows SCS comp @ our bremerton gym

got pretty dialed in this week with the comp setting. we were able to get all the routes done dialed and run by 2pm friday. we started thursday morning at 9am. it helps when you have a small group of guys who dont need their hand held.
we had bret, ross, mike helt, myself, brian doyle and even hansen got to set his first comp route and it is really good. nice job buddy.i love it when the young guys are super psyched to set and get better at setting. he was really easy to work with and checked his ego at the door.
this will be a great comp.
super big thanks to candace for making sure everything got taken care of, literally. all the little things, which always turn out to be big things, were very well executed. candace rules it.

today was a good day...sounders season opener 2-0 win over philly

the newest MLSexpansion team, the philadelphia union, came to seattleSOUNDERS to play their first game. they pretty much got crushed. not only did they go down to ten men at about the 35th minute, but they also lacked in any real cohesion. i for one was all for this as it kicked our season off to a great start.

10 year old Vertical world team member and ABS national champion in youth D, drew ruana, made his second 5.13a redpoint of his career. this last weekend he was able to do Taco chips (13a) at smith rocks oregon.
this crag really seems to suit drew. he is crushing routes left and right. i love it how he just takes to this park. funny thing is, when i met his dad, he was living in his van, down at smith, about 20 years ago.
congrats drew. keep it up buddy.

little si again

jake and I had a good day at the little si. it was raining.
im starting to feel pretty good out there. its nice to be in mid season shape in march. but it is hard to tell how i feel cuz i have been doing the same routes out there for weeks now. sure i can hold on for a while, but i also know the routes really well. i ran 4 laps on chronic and felt like i coulda done a few more. not sure how the fitness is really. i am going to salt lake to climb with kubiak in a couple weeks, so i guess i will find out then.
i guess bret and bhops both did rude boys (13b/c) at smith in a couple tries each. super classic. wish i was down there.

Pessl baby shower

this last weekend my wife and I attended the Pessl family baby shower at the lake city compound. congratulations to adam and lauren.
we got to hear the bluegrass tunes and we also got to see baby hazel lumpkins flex her muscles. and of course me, KJ and rich were the dickheads watching the Huskies beat new mexico in the march madness during the baby shower. go dawgs.
adam has done some wonderful things to his house and has offered to help me with mine. would love to get motivated on this.

wife bike

so ive been trying to build my wife a bike for a while now. last summer i ordered a frame from the same folks i got my pink one from. it showed up and wasnt exactly what they said it was. first it wasnt drilled for brakes like they said it was. then the dropouts were for quick release. then the rear spacing was like 100mm. so i sent it back at my own expense. they said they would fix it. 2 months later i asked for a refund. long story short, this guy didnt refund me, moved back to mexico or wherever, and i was out about $300.
so last week i ordered this frame. much better. it showed up. and it cost me half the money. i already had most the parts laying around from other bikes ive built.
its an eigth inch scrambler 49 cm. i put bulletproof 165 cranks with a rocket 47t ring. 18t freewheel. premade alexrims. 28c randoneur front tire and 25c rear. brakes. old seat off my moms bike from the 70s. bbb upright stem. pink oury grips.
all budget. she loves it, and we are gonna have fun this summer riding around.

sharma.........chalkbag on a carabiner?????

im really baffled to see sharma climbing with a chalkbag on a carabiner like he just started climbing last week or something. pet peeve of mine. if you climb with a chalkbag on a carabiner, let me explain something to you: first off, it makes your chalking 10x more in efficient. the bag swings around like crazy and is harder to get into.
2nd, i have literally seen people fall when bouldering and have the carabiner hit them in the tail bone. one kid actually fractured his tail bone because of the carabiner that was jamming him in the ass. and the other day i saw another kid lay on the ground for a few minutes cuz of the same situation.
3rd, its ugly.

great day at little si

its warming up and that feeling of, "jeez its so cold can we just leave soon" has left.
considering there were about 400 cars in all the lots we thought the wall would be packed, but not even. it was great.
one of my best friends drew philbin is making a comeback and was sighted out there at the crag today. it was great.
i was able to do "gerbil killer"(13a). i tried it for the first time the other day, and did it first try today. its basically the direct line to psychosematic(12d), which ive done dozens of times. it just bumps the grade a tad.
